So before we dive into the our annual Christmas review, we thought we’d share a lighter take, from someone whose insights come from years of experience in buying and selling accounting practices.

1. Where did you grow up?
Canada — you learn to skate when you can walk and most people know how to pronounce my surname properly.
2. Coffee or tea?
Both. A flat white or a herbal tea depending on the time of day.
3. What’s one thing that surprises people about you?
I care.
4. Best parts of your job?
Getting an unexpected good result for a client, discovering a good buyer option and travelling to see clients around the country.

The role of personality fit.

Beach.

8. Most common myth about selling an Accounting practice?
That you’ll be forced out overnight. Not true — transition is often gradual.
9. Number one mistake Sellers make?
Waiting too long. The perfect time never arrives.
10. Advice you always give but don’t always follow?
Take a proper holiday.
11. What keeps you up at night (work‑wise)?
Expectation vs reality.
12. Something(s) you’re proud of this year?
Overcoming big obstacles and being patient.

Assisting more Bookkeepers as interest in buying bookkeeping firms continues to grow.
